Let's not lock their childhood with Limiting beliefs, Fear, Self doubt, Blame, Guilt. Let’s unlock and watch them bloom. I came across this little boy on a busy street in New Delhi, (India), playfully wearing a chain lock, waiting for his brother who was a vegetable vendor. Tried striking a conversation but he would reply only in monosyllables. I wanted to take a portrait but he was too shy to even come close to the camera. Interestingly this boy was supposed to guard the vegetable cart but I loved the way he preferred to guard himself. His shyness spoke volumes to me through this images. As a parent I resonated with this picture (while clicking) how on a subconscious level we ingrain fear, doubt, lack of confidence and limit our children’s thoughts and beliefs. We are afraid just like the kid (in frame) to set them free, free to make their choices, make mistakes and learn from them, free to simply be themselves).
